Worldsensing, a global leader in IoT remote monitoring, is set to launch its latest innovation, The Vibration Meter, on November 28. This new wireless monitor is a significant development in addressing the environmental impacts of mining and drilling operations, particularly concerning ground vibration.
The Vibration Meter: A Game Changer in Vibration Assessment
Ground vibrations from blasting operations are a common environmental concern in mining. These vibrations can cause substantial damage to buildings and structures, making their detection and monitoring crucial. The Vibration Meter is designed to monitor and assess vibrations from long-term field activities like surface or underground mining, tailing dams, and dump creation.
Enhanced Features for Effective Monitoring
The Vibration Meter stands out with its tri-axial MEMS accelerometer, offering a longer battery life of up to 2 years for unattended operation. Its wireless design automates data collection for continuous vibration monitoring, meeting crucial vibration regulations regarding building integrity and human impact. With a wider communication range of up to 15 km and a competitive price point, it surpasses existing vibration-related technologies in the market.
Regulatory Compliance and Advanced Technology
This device helps engineering service providers comply with various international standards, including the German DIN 4140-3, the British BS 7385-2, and the ISO 2631-2, concerning the effects of vibrations on people. The Vibration Meter features an advanced algorithm detecting threshold breaches of vibration parameters like LAW/PPV and frequency, transmitting data at 1,000 MHz through Worldsensing’s Long Range (LoRa) antenna.
A Step Towards Sustainable Infrastructure
Andrea Bartoli, CTO at Worldsensing, emphasizes the importance of this technology in maintaining infrastructure integrity and protecting the environment. The launch of The Vibration Meter is a stride towards enhanced safety and environmental stewardship in development projects.
Worldsensing’s Global Impact
With over 3,000 networks and 170,000 devices worldwide, Worldsensing is revolutionizing real-time data acquisition, enabling industrial companies to wirelessly monitor remote infrastructures efficiently.
